About Dhuhr

Dhuhr (الظهر), also written Zuhr or Zohar, is the midday prayer. It begins just after the sun passes its highest point (solar noon), and lasts until Asr begins. It has four obligatory rak‘ahs. On Fridays, the Jumu‘ah congregational prayer takes its place; each mosque announces its own khutbah and Jumu‘ah times.
