When and how to pay
Pay before the Eid al-Fitr prayer; Eid al-Fitr 2027 is expected on Tuesday, 9 March 2027 (Eid prayer times by city). Paying in the last days of Ramadan lets it reach families in time. Give it to people in need where you live unless your mosque or charity distributes it for you.

Zakat al-Fitr 2026 in Kuwait is KWD 1 per person (reported). Zakat House’s Sharia Board allows cash at the value of one sa‘ (about 2.5 kg) of rice and states it as KWD 1 per person; the same figure was given in 2024 and repeated for 2026. When must Zakat al-Fitr be paid in 2027?
Before the Eid al-Fitr prayer. Eid al-Fitr 2027 is expected on Tuesday, 9 March 2027; many authorities encourage paying during Ramadan, at the latest a day or two before Eid, so it reaches families in time.
Who has to pay it?
Every Muslim who has food beyond the needs of the day of Eid pays for themselves and for those they support, including children and, in most schools, a baby born before Eid. The head of the household usually pays for everyone.
