Islamic date today by country
Each row uses the civil date in the country’s largest city right now. “A day behind” is the date where the month began one day after Saudi Arabia; it is shown for comparison, not as an announcement.

This Hijri month
Jumada I 1448 runs from Monday, 12 October 2026 to Tuesday, 10 November 2026 (30 days) in the Umm al-Qura calendar. The next major date is Isra and Mi‘raj (27 Rajab 1448), in 61 days, on Tuesday, 5 January 2027. See the full Islamic calendar 2027, or convert any Hijri or Gregorian date.
Which date should I follow?
For prayer, fasting and Eid, follow the announcement your community or mosque uses. The Umm al-Qura date is the official civil calendar in Saudi Arabia and a common reference elsewhere; it is calculated, not observed. Countries that sight the moon locally can be a day behind it, and Malaysia and Singapore publish their own calendars. See why Islamic month starts differ.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Islamic date today?
Today’s Islamic date is 25 Jumada I 1448 AH in the Umm al-Qura calendar, for Thursday, 5 November 2026 in Makkah. After Maghrib (5:43 PM in Makkah) the Hijri date becomes 26 Jumada I 1448 AH. In Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, where months start on local sighting, the date is often a day behind: 24 Jumada I 1448 AH.
How many days are in Jumada I 1448?
In the Umm al-Qura calendar, Jumada I 1448 has 30 days, from Monday, 12 October 2026 to Tuesday, 10 November 2026. Countries that follow local sighting decide the length at the end of the month.
When does the Islamic date change?
At sunset. The Islamic day runs from Maghrib to the next Maghrib, so the evening before a civil date already belongs to that date’s Hijri day. Calendars, including this one, label each civil (midnight-to-midnight) day with the Hijri date that covers its daylight hours.
Why do websites show different Islamic dates?
Some use the Umm al-Qura calendar, some an arithmetic (tabular) Hijri calendar, and some follow local moon-sighting announcements. They can disagree by a day, occasionally two. The month length (29 or 30 days) is also decided by sighting in many countries, so a calendar printed in advance is an expectation, not a confirmation.
